Have you got the full agreement of everyone in your household to adopt or foster? Please be aware that GSN Volunteers will be responding to your application, so we ask you to ensure that everyone is on-board before you submit an application, so that our time is not wasted.
Do you live in an Apartment? It needs more commitment to care for a greyhound in an Apartment, so please read our information on Greyhounds and Apartment Living before you apply to adopt or foster a GSN greyhound.
Off Leash Parks and Greyhounds Under Victorian Law, greyhounds are never allowed off leash unless on private property. This law includes designated off-leash areas, such as fenced or un-fenced dog parks, leash free beaches, etc. We also discourage people from taking a leashed greyhound to areas where other dogs are off leash, as it can cause distress to the greyhound if an unleashed dog runs up to it. If it is frightened, then it may take the only option in the “flight or fight” scenario.
Note: GSN currently have no cat-friendly greyhounds, and cannot take applications for them at this time.
