Greyhound Safety Net

from kennel to couch

On the way to the couch.......

FOSTER CARERS REQUIRED

Prior to adoption, greyhounds are fostered out to homes

to learn about being a pet. Many greyhounds have never

been inside a house before, and are not familiar with the

sights and sounds of the average home.

Some Greyhounds will walk into a house for the very first

time and find the most comfortable spot - the couch.

For others the TV, vacuum cleaner, glass doors and even

turning on a tap can be quite frightening.

The foster period can vary. Most would be fostered for a

period of approximately 4 weeks – enough time to learn

about life as a pet and enough time for carers to fall in love!

Greyhound Safety Net provides a collar, lead, muzzle,  coat

and super premium holistic dry food.

Indoor bedding can also be supplied upon request.

Full 24/7 support from GSN volunteers is also provided.

We require carers in a variety of situations

– working people, home bodies, with or without other pets,

with or without children. Flats, units, suburban houses.

Most Greyhounds do not need a large yard. Some are comfortable

with a short walk daily and a comfy bed in the house with you!

The foster period can vary, as once a greyhound has the luxury

of being  a "GSN" doggy, it will remain in a home situation until adoption

no matter how long it takes.

We do not generally place a Greyhound in a kennel facility once it has

experienced a home environment!
