GSN has been established for over 20 years
and provides a safety net for greyhounds who might not otherwise get the chance of a forever home. GSN is a charity run by volunteers, so we appreciate your patience while we are working on the business of rescuing and rehoming greyhounds.
Please note do not promise we will be able to provide a greyhound to you as we allocate greyhounds based on the best match for them, and your home may not be the right match for the greyhounds we currently have in our care.

Cats and small animals
Unless noted as cat-friendly, most greyhounds will not be considered safe around cats.
We are unable to test greyhounds with chooks, guinea pigs, birds, or other small animals, so please consider this before applying for a greyhound if you have other small animals in the home.

We don't adopt greyhounds by colour
Most greyhounds bred are black, and therefore there are very few other colours available for adoption. We match our greyhounds to applicants based on the greyhound’s personality and needs, not their colour.

Females vs Males?
All greyhounds have individual personalities, but they are all lovely. However as a (grossly) generalized rule, boys tend to be a bit more affectionate and soppy than girls.

Reba - aged 5 years
Kindly sponsored by:
Guardian Angel - Antoinette Ciconte |
A Sweet and Gentle GirlReba is a lovely black greyhound with a gentle and sweet nature. She’s currently living happily in foster care with an elderly greyhound companion and is adjusting well to her new life. While she initially found the outside world a little overwhelming, regular walks around quiet streets are helping her relax and grow in confidence.
Reba is gentle on the lead and doesn’t pull, making her a pleasure to walk. She’s also non-reactive to other dogs she meets on her time exploring outside. At home, Reba’s playful side shines as she adores toys and loves tossing them in the air and chasing after them. She’s fully toilet trained and sleeps peacefully through the night on her bed in the lounge, often near her canine friend. This sweet girl travels quietly in the car, lying down calmly throughout the trip. While she still needs a little help getting in and out of the car, with time and patience, she’s likely to get the hang of it. Reba enjoys being around people and is happy to relax on her bed in the same room as you. If you work full-time, she’d love another dog to keep her company, but if you’re home often, she’ll happily soak up your presence. Reba is a loving companion who’s ready to bring joy and warmth into her forever home. Could she be the perfect match for you? Reba is not cat or pocket pet tolerant. Fox - aged 2 yearsSponsored as a special birthday present for Kris McGill 🥳
Guardian angel to so many hounds! |
Fox - a lover of all🎶 Dog goes woof, cat goes meow, cow goes moo… but what does the Fox say? 🎶
Well, this Fox is very vocal about saying he loves you! Fox is a cheeky character who loves everyone he meets. Everyone is Fox’s best friend — he greets dogs and humans alike with pure joy, often sneaking in a quick lick if he can manage it. Fox is not your typical sleepy greyhound — he’s a young lad with energy to burn. Toys get energetically thrown around, and zoomies will happen in circles on the spot if there’s no room to stretch out. A decent amount of space to run will be well utilised by Fox, and even after a session of zoomies, a walk is always a happy event for him. 🎶 Your fur is fawn, so beautiful — like an angel in disguise. 🎶 Fox really is an angel, as he’s very happy to live with cats, provided they let him know when they don’t want to play. A busy household to help him expend his energy would suit him perfectly. Fox lives with primary school–aged kids but would not be suitable for younger children due to his boisterous play style. Fox is currently living as an only dog but we think he would be best suited to a home with fellow furry family members. Having a doggy friend who’s up for some lively playtimes would be an extra bonus for Fox. Wherever Fox finds himself, he’ll love his people with all his heart — and it will be impossible not to love him back. DOB: 26/11/2023 M/C: 956000016299697 |
Nikki - aged 6 yearsKindly Sponsored by:
Guardian Angels - Cairo and Jack |
Kind and Ready to BelongNikki is a lovely lady with a gentle heart and a calm soul. She’s friendly and affectionate with everyone she meets, from people to dogs of all shapes and sizes. In her foster home, she shares life peacefully with two teenagers and a German Shepherd, showing just how adaptable she is.
Nikki has settled beautifully into home life. She’s toilet and house trained, confident on stairs, and loves her meals. She can stay home alone for up to four hours, though she prefers having company. She rides well in the car, enjoying the view once she’s settled, and is happy with a couple of 30-minute walks each day. Her calm and kind temperament make her a wonderful companion for a relaxed household. Nikki doesn’t ask for much — just some love, a comfy spot to rest, and gentle daily walks. Nikki is not cat or pocket pet tolerant. DOB: 08/09/2019 M/C: 956000011135113 |
Luna - aged almost 5 yearsKindly sponsored by:
Guardian Angels - The Lokuge family in loving memory of Lucy |
Luna - Small but Mighty!Luna may be petite, but she’s bursting with confidence and charm! This happy, cheeky girl is full of energy and loves joining in on every bit of fun. She adores her humans and foster buddies and is always thrilled to meet new people and dogs.
Luna walks beautifully on the lead, though she can set off with a little too much enthusiasm at first – a head harness helps her quickly settle into a relaxed stroll. She’s toilet trained, travels well in the car, and loves snuggling into her bed after a good walk. A true foodie, Luna never says no to a treat and will happily “assist” with the washing up. She’s polite with dogs of all sizes once properly introduced and gets along nicely with children. Luna is looking for a loving home where she can enjoy plenty of walks, cuddles, and companionship – and in return, she’ll bring joy, loyalty, and endless affection every day. Luna is not cat or pocket pet tolerant. DOB: 13/03/2021 M/C: 956000014490646 |
Felix - aged almost 2 yearsKindly sponsored by:
Guardian Angel - Debora, in Loving Memory of Fig |
A Playful Boy Finding His ConfidenceFelix has been living peacefully with two female dogs in his foster home and fits in nicely with them. He enjoys their company and plays gently and respectfully. He has also shown positive interactions with dogs of all breeds and sizes. Outside the home, he prefers to observe rather than rush into new situations, especially when meeting unfamiliar people. He may take a few days to feel comfortable with new faces, but once trust is built, he becomes a loyal and loving companion who enjoys being close to his people.
He’s excited to go on walks and explore, though he’s still learning to walk nicely on the lead. With time and consistency, he’ll continue to improve. His toilet training has made great progress, and he’s keeping his foster home clean. When it’s time to eat, Felix happily finishes every meal. Since he shows some curiosity about other dogs’ food bowls, it’s best to feed him separately to help maintain good manners. Felix would thrive in a calm and patient home that can offer gentle guidance, regular walks, and space to play. In return, he’ll bring joy, friendship, and the quiet satisfaction that comes from watching a young dog grow into a steady, loyal companion. Felix is not cat or pocket pet tolerant. Daisy - aged 5 yearsKindly sponsored by:
Guardian Angel - Antoinette Ciconte Helping Hero - Adele |
Finding Comfort One Day at TimeWhen Daisy first arrived in foster care, she was a little unsure of what life might bring. With time and patience, she’s slowly blossomed into a sweet, loyal girl who loves the simple things — a quiet home, good food, and the company of a few trusted friends.
Daisy currently lives with a German Shepherd in her foster home and gets along with dogs of similar size. She’s fine around medium to large dogs who speak her language of companionship and play. People are nice too — especially if there are treats involved. Food is Daisy’s love language, and she’s easily persuaded by a tasty snack or two. This gentle girl is looking for a peaceful, adult‑only home where the days move at an easy pace. She would suit a family with another steady dog to keep her company or someone who enjoys quiet walks and quiet evenings at home. With a bit of routine, patience, and plenty of love (and treats!), Daisy will continue to grow in confidence. In return, she’ll bring warmth, loyalty, and the tender joy of watching a shy blossom open into a loving companion ready to bloom in her forever home. Daisy is not cat or pocket pet tolerant. Max - aged 6 yearsKindly sponsored by:
Guardian Angels -Elizabeth and Lady |
A Cushion Keeper and Heart StealerWhen Max first arrived, he was a little unsure of what life after racing would be like. But in just two short weeks, he’s shown how quickly a greyhound can settle into home life when given love and patience. Max has already learned his name and has great recall, often trotting over with a wagging tail the moment he’s called.
He’s now fully house‑trained and proud of it. One of Max’s favourite pastimes is collecting toys and cushions, which he carefully gathers into a pile without destroying them whatsoever, just likes having his own collection close by. On walks, Max moves nicely on the lead, curious about his surroundings but calm and well‑mannered when meeting people or other dogs. He’s friendly, gentle, and enjoys saying hello to strangers with quiet confidence. At home, Max is affectionate and loves being near his people. He’s the kind of dog who likes to be part of whatever you’re doing, often leaning in for cuddles. He eats well and enjoys his meals without being greedy and he’s particularly fond of scrambled eggs, chicken, and a good bone to chew on. Max is a relaxed boy who enjoys long naps and stretching out for a good roach. He’s funny, loving, and full of character. Max is ready to bring his gentle nature and cheeky charm into a loving home. Max is not cat or pocket pet tolerant. D.O.B.: 07/10/2019 M/C: 956000011133604 |
Sparkles - aged 5 years |
Add a Little Sparkle to Your LifeWell, who do we have here? Introducing... Sparkles!
Fulfil the desires of this queen of ear scratches and neck rubs, and she’ll melt into a pile of blue glitter, gazing lovingly into your eyes. She loves to play and zoomie with her canine friends and has a curious mind, frequently performing “bag inspections” when you come home. (“Whatcha bring me?”) She’s initially a little shy around children and would probably be better suited to a home with kids over ten years old. She also needs a bit of help getting into cars. (“Uppies please, human.”) When she feels overwhelmed by life, she can be vocal. Her previous owner was a dog minder, and poor Sparkles found it hard to cope with all the canine visitors in her home, so it was decided to rehome her. She would benefit from some training to build her confidence around unfamiliar dogs. This petite blue girl has already lived in a home and is being rehomed through no fault of her own. So... who’s ready to add a little Sparkle to their life? Sparkle is not cat or pocket pet tolerant. D.O.B.: 01/05/2021 M/C: 956000012968177 |
Katie - aged 3 years |
Slow Steps, Big HeartKatie is learning that home life can be a gentle and happy place, little by little. With the help of her foster family and her dog foster brother, she’s slowly building confidence. She now spends more time in shared spaces, quietly lying nearby instead of keeping her distance. Having another calm dog by her side seems to give Katie courage, showing her that people aren’t so scary after all.
On walks, Katie likes to keep an eye on her handler, checking in for reassurance and encouragement. She handles meeting other dogs well and isn’t worried by passing traffic, though sudden loud noises can still make her nervous. With reassurance and guidance, she settles again. Katie would do best in a quiet, patient home where she can continue to grow in confidence at her own pace. Another friendly dog would be a wonderful companion for her. In return, Katie will share her gentle presence, quiet loyalty, and the small but beautiful moments that come from earning the trust of a shy soul. Katie is not cat or pocket pet tolerant.
